A Troubling Year
Hello outstanding people!
2020 and what a wild ride this has been! I hope and pray that we have all found healthy ways to cope during this troubling time. This has most certainly been one of my most trying years mentally, emotionally and physically.
Earlier in the year when Covid was first announced I thought (probably like most of us), that we would never have anything to worry about. We could continue living life and no one or anything would ever be affected. Man oh man was I wrong.
About February I think I began to realize that the threat was real and real people were being really affected. I saw folks having to deal with death of loved ones, job loss, detachment and every other imaginable stress possible. I wondered, prayed and hoped that we found new ways to fight off urges to use with things closing down around us.
In May of 2020 my wife and I both caught Covid. Thank God we both recovered and lived to talk about it. My thoughts and prayers are also with everyone who is dealing with the loss of a loved one because of this. During our battle I began to think of all of the positive things in life that I was grateful for to help pull me through. That’s when it hit me! Everyone struggling with Sobriety needs to tap in to that reason WHY!
Meetings and physical interaction have been taken away and/or limited. So now it’s YOUvsYOU. How do YOU respond? My advice, start slow and focus on SELF. WHY did you begin your sobriety journey? What is the END result that you’re after? This is just another challenge for US to overcome on our path to greatness.
I pray this reaches everyone it’s intended to reach and many more who didn’t know they needed it. I’m in the battle with you. If you need me to be an ear to LISTEN you can ALWAYS reach me @StrengthInTime
